Manchester United defeated the Blues on Saturday at Stamford Bridge in the 33rd round of the championship.

Bad operation for Chelsea. The Blues see their Champions League qualification chances diminish after their home defeat against Manchester United (0-1) on Saturday, in the 33rd round of the Premier League.

Without ideas against a Manchester United team coldly realistic, Chelsea suffered their fourth consecutive defeat in the championship and may miss their last chances of qualifying for the next Champions League. Sixth in the standings with 48 points, the Blues are four points behind Liverpool, the first team to qualify for the next edition, who have a tough away game at Everton on Sunday.

Dominating is not winning

Outplayed by Manchester City (0-3) last Sunday, Liam Rosenior’s players dominated their opponent this time, but were surprised at the very end of the first half by the first real incursion from Manchester, by Matheus Cunha (44th minute).

They were unlucky in the second half, with Liam Delap’s header hitting the crossbar (57th minute), but they rarely troubled the Red Devils, who are 3rd with 58 points and almost certain to return to the Champions League, which they have not played since 2023-24.
