A flight traveling to New York had to make an emergency landing at Pittsburgh International Airport on Saturday due to a potential security issue, as confirmed by officials. The flight, United Flight 2092 from O’Hare to LaGuardia, was diverted to Pittsburgh just before noon after a security concern reported by the airline crew. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) stated that the plane safely landed at PIT around 11:45 a.m. There were a total of 159 passengers and 6 crew members on board, all of whom were evacuated from the plane using slides. Fortunately, there have been no reported injuries.

Video footage captured the plane on the runway at PIT, with crews visible evacuating passengers. Law enforcement, including the Allegheny County Police Bomb Squad, FBI Pittsburgh Special Agent Bomb Techs, and Special Agents, are currently on the scene conducting an investigation.

In response to the incident, FBI Pittsburgh acknowledged a reported threat on board the flight to New York. They reassured that all passengers and crew safely evacuated the aircraft and are in collaboration with local authorities for further updates. The airport continues to remain open and operational, with ongoing updates expected. This is a developing story, and more information will be provided as it becomes available.
