According to the correspondent of the Vietnamese news agency in Beijing, on April 17, the “People’s Daily” – the official organ of the Chinese Communist Party – published an editorial titled “Building a Sino-Vietnamese Community of Shared Future on the Fast Track of Development”, stating that regardless of changes in the international situation, China always considers Vietnam a priority in its foreign policy.
The article mentions that on April 15, Chinese President and General Secretary Xi Jinping met with Vietnamese President and General Secretary To Lam during his state visit to China.
Both parties engaged in long and in-depth exchanges on strategic and cross-cutting issues of common interest, reaching many important consensus. The strategic leadership of the top leaders of both parties and both countries has propelled the construction of the Sino-Vietnamese Community of Shared Future onto the fast track of development.
China and Vietnam are two friendly socialist neighbors and a community of strategic importance sharing a common destiny. In recent years, the top leaders of both parties and countries have held numerous face-to-face meetings, fully demonstrating the deep friendship that unites China and Vietnam, considered as “fraternal comrades”.
The article supports that youth constitute an essential force for development and social progress, as well as being the heirs to the cause for both parties and countries.
During this visit, General Secretary and President Xi Jinping and General Secretary and President To Lam met with Chinese and Vietnamese youth participating in the “Red Journey for Research and Studies” program.
This agreement highlights the crucial importance that both countries place on passing on the knowledge of younger generations, aiming to mobilize youth in service of the socialist cause and to benefit a Sino-Vietnamese Community of Strategic Importance. China and Vietnam are working together towards modernization, for the greater benefit of their respective populations.
During his visit, General Secretary and President To Lam traveled on a high-speed train, allowing him to directly witness the high-quality development dynamics in China.
For over 20 consecutive years, China has been Vietnam’s leading trading partner, while Vietnam is China’s top trading partner within the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and the fourth globally.
Both parties have deep and close economic and trade relations, sharing many common interests.
In a rapidly changing world, cooperation between the two countries to build a community of shared destiny is crucial for maintaining peace and development at regional and global levels.
Lately, protectionism has been gaining ground and economic globalization is facing many challenges, negatively impacting the development of all countries.
In this context, China and Vietnam have jointly chosen open cooperation, have jointly opposed unilateralism and protectionism, and have committed to maintaining the global system of free trade and the stability and proper functioning of supply chains and industries, contributing to creating a more favorable international environment for the development of each party.
The article concludes that regardless of changes in the international situation, China will always prioritize Vietnam in its neighboring foreign policy. China is determined to maintain its original aspirations and friendship with Vietnam, working together, in a spirit of solidarity and mutual support, to promote a high-quality comprehensive strategic cooperation, in line with the six priority areas, and to accelerate the construction of a Sino-Vietnamese Community of Shared Future, which holds major strategic importance.
