In the last 24 hours, Iran has fired the smallest number of missiles ever recorded since the beginning of the conflict,” Pete Hegseth declared at a press conference held on Tuesday, March 10 in Washington.

After Donald Trump hinted that the war in Iran could be coming to an end from the American side, his Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, stated that this Tuesday, March 10, would be “the most intense day of strikes” on the country since the beginning of the war on February 28.

This day will see “the largest number of combat aircraft, bombers, strikes,” said the minister during a press conference at the Pentagon alongside the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Dan Caine. The general specified that more than 50 Iranian ships have been destroyed by the United States in the first ten days of the conflict.

While the Revolutionary Guards have promised to prevent “the export of a single liter of oil” from the Middle East “to the enemy camp and its partners,” Pete Hegseth also used threatening language: “If Iran were to block the flow of oil passing through the Strait of Hormuz, the country would be attacked 20 times stronger.”

“Mollahs ‘desperate'”

According to Pete Hegseth, this new intensification of American strikes comes as Tehran shows diminished capabilities to carry out retaliations. “In the last 24 hours, Iran has fired the smallest number of missiles ever recorded since the beginning of the conflict,” he added, portraying the mollahs as “desperate” and “acting like the cowardly terrorists they are.”

Pete Hegseth, however, did not want to speculate on the timeline of the coming days and weeks, judging that it was not up to him to “conjecture whether it’s the beginning, the middle, or the end” of the conflict.

“It’s Donald Trump who has control of the joystick,” added the minister. “From our side, we give him endless means to continue the war.”
