Office rentals in Ile-de-France fell by 15% in the first quarter after a difficult 2025.

Professionals in the real estate sector, especially in offices, are feeling the impact of a tough first quarter in 2026. In Ile-de-France, the demand for new office leases signed by companies has decreased by 15% compared to the same period last year. Analysts were expecting a rebound or at least stability after a challenging 2025, but not such a significant drop. Yannis De Francesco, executive director of Office Agency France at JLL, described this quarter as “very disappointing,” and Alexandre Fontaine from CBRE agreed, saying “the numbers show that the market is a bit gloomy.”

Uncertainty prevails, with political instability in France due to the lack of a government majority and the upcoming unpredictable presidential election next year.
