The news rocked the world on April 14. Nadia Farès is currently hospitalized in critical condition at the Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital in Paris, where she was rushed in critical condition. The 57-year-old actress was found unconscious at the bottom of a pool at the prestigious Blanche sports complex in the capital on Saturday afternoon.
Witnesses reported that Nadia Farès suddenly disappeared at the bottom of the pool where she was swimming with flippers and a board. A witness mentioned that she suddenly got rid of her equipment before diving. Another witness mentioned that after finishing his lap, he was concerned not to see the swimmer he didn’t recognize resurface.
After receiving CPR and the use of a defibrillator, Nadia Farès was finally taken to the hospital. Though her condition has stabilized, her prognosis remains uncertain. An investigation has been launched by the Paris prosecutor’s office, shedding light on the sequence of events, including the role of surveillance cameras in the sports facility.
Not long ago, Nadia Farès’ family faced another ordeal. In December, she revealed to Paris Match that one of her daughters was on Bondi Beach in Sydney during a terrorist attack that claimed 15 lives and many injuries within the Jewish community during Hanukkah celebrations.
The actress shared that her daughter narrowly avoided the attack thanks to jet lag. While they considered turning back, they stayed home and heard the gunshots and chaos unfold from a distance. Nadia Farès expressed her relief that her daughter was safe but deeply affected by the incident, highlighting the bravery of Ahmed al Ahmed, who disarmed one of the attackers. The actress saw his actions as a stand against radicalism and hatred.
