The Queen Camilla, long engaged in the fight against violence towards women, could once again show her support during her upcoming visit to the United States from April 27 to 29, where she will accompany her husband, Charles III, on a state visit. According to The Mirror, she has been approached by Jeffrey Epstein’s victims who wish to meet her. Buckingham Palace had previously stated that the royal couple had no plans to interact with them as the investigation is still ongoing.
Particularly moved by the stories of women who claim to have been violated, assaulted, and abused by the American millionaire, Charles III saw his brother, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, embroiled in the scandal. It is still premature for the monarch to meet with the key players in this case. However, Queen Camilla seems to be in a better position. Internal sources suggest that discussions are only in their “very early stages.”
“It is entirely possible that the Queen may choose to meet the victims in private. They have never hidden their desire to meet her,” as reported by The Mirror. “Any negotiations would be highly confidential and in their early stages, but it would be a fantastic gesture of support from her.” When the emails between Jeffrey Epstein and ex-Prince Andrew were revealed, Charles III and Camilla expressed their compassion towards “victims and survivors of all forms of abuse.” This winter, Queen Camilla met with Gisèle Pelicot, showing her determination to act against assaulted women.
“A meeting with Epstein’s victims would send a strong message: their voices matter, not only in court but also in positions of power,” said lawyer Spencer Kuvin, representing some of Epstein’s victims. Officially, the king and queen are traveling to the United States to celebrate the 250th anniversary of Independence Day. This presents an opportunity for Camilla to highlight women’s empowerment and rights.
