US delegation leaves Pakistan without agreement with Iran
The vice president announced that the US delegation was leaving Pakistan after 21 hours of negotiations failed to reach an agreement with Iran. Direct talks between Tehran and Washington were the first of high-level since 1979 and the first direct talks since 2015. The issue of the Strait of Hormuz remains a sticking point in the negotiations.
To reach an agreement, Tehran demands war reparations, control of the strait and the establishment of a toll. Meanwhile, the US navy is initiating a blockade of ships attempting to enter or exit the strait. The US president accuses Iran of violating laws and announces operations to neutralize maritime mines.
War with Iran costs around $11.5 billion to Israel
Israel’s finance ministry estimates that the five-week war with Iran cost approximately $11.5 billion. The majority of the expenses were allocated to military operations, while the rest went towards compensations and economic losses.
