The first opportunity is for Laurent Peyrelade’s visitors but Texier’s shot misses Giffard’s goal (16th minute). The Basques’ response is swift. Taounti’s two shots, too weak to trouble Malek (18th, 19th), but the danger comes later with a triple save in front of the Hérault line: Malek turns away Ariztimuno and Renard’s attempts before being helped by Missaoui’s return on Vallejo’s shot (21st).

But the visitors’ loss is only temporary. A ball lost by the visitors on a throw-in thirty meters from their goal allows Renard to recover the ball and slide it to Vallejo in the right-hand area. His cross finds Esteve’s victorious strike, giving Genêts a deserved lead (29th, 1-0). Vallejo himself has a goal disallowed for a previous foul by Ariztimuno on the visiting goalkeeper Malek (32nd).

Attack and defense

The second half is more disjointed. Agde invades Anglet’s camp, launches several set pieces but without real threat to Giffard. In this low period, Genêts score on the counter. Vallejo sets up Renard on the left, who crosses to Ariztimuno at the far post, who scores (63rd, 2-0).

The last half-hour is a series of attacking and defending exchanges where both teams go back and forth without anyone being able to find the back of the net. Anglet closes to five points behind the new leader Canet.
