The No. 02 resolution of the Politburo considers innovation, science, technology, and digital transformation as crucial factors for increasing competitiveness. For Hanoi, it is an urgent requirement to boost its growth model.

Hanoi aims to be among the top cities in the world for livability.

The capital city has numerous advantages to achieve its ambitious goal. It houses many universities, research institutes, qualified human resources, and technological companies. An innovation and startup ecosystem has gradually formed, with increasing involvement from the private sector.

Creativity’s positioning is key according to Dr. Bui Thi An, emphasizing the need to connect different ecosystem players to avoid resource dispersion.

Digital transformation in public management and social life provides a crucial foundation for innovation, enabling the city to create an environment conducive to experimenting with and implementing innovative ideas.

While there have been some initial successes, innovation activities in Hanoi still face limitations, requiring improved mechanisms and policies to promote innovation effectively.

To achieve the objectives outlined in Resolution No. 02, Hanoi must deploy comprehensive systemic solutions, focusing on specialized innovation support platforms to foster quality innovative products.

Looking back on over three decades of development, Hanoi has progressed through significant stages, evolving into a political, economic, and cultural center of the country.

In this new phase of development, the challenges facing the capital have become more complex, requiring a strategic and long-term vision for higher-quality, more efficient, and sustainable progress.

Resolution No. 02 not only aims for faster growth but also emphasizes the importance of better, more efficient, and sustainable development, shifting towards productivity, technology, innovation, and institutional quality.

The resolution also presents a positive message to the business community, positioning Hanoi as not just a political-administrative center but also an economic hub, innovation center, regional connectivity hub, and major player in international integration.

Hanoi’s future as an economic center, innovation hub, and key player in international integration presents opportunities for businesses in emerging sectors like high technology, digital economy, creative industries, high-quality services, logistics, finance, and innovation.
