The University of Michigan men’s basketball team celebrated their 2026 NCAA national championship win with an on-campus parade and event. CBS News Detroit aired the parade live, followed by a celebration at Crisler Center hosted by the Champions Circle.
Michigan’s victory over UConn secured their second NCAA title ever and first since 1989. The parade started at the President’s House, went down State Street, and ended at Yost Ice Arena. Fans were advised to line up along the route, with street closures beginning at 8 a.m.
Parking was available in nearby structures on Thompson, Maynard, Thayer streets, and Forest Avenue. The indoor celebration at Crisler Center, with ticket prices benefiting Michigan’s student-athletes, started at 1 p.m. Doors opened for ticketholders at noon on Saturday.
