It was an accident without serious consequences, but it could have ended badly for Matisse. On Friday, April 10, 2026, the young woman was on her way to work and merged onto the ring road at the Saint-Brieuc gate around 8:30 am.

In the ordeal, Matisse tried to position herself between a dump truck and a car in the left lane. “But the car wanted to merge into my lane so I slowed down,” recalls Matisse, 28. “Unfortunately, I was positioned in such a way that I ended up in the blind spot of the dump truck.” And the rest happened very quickly.

“I bounced off the safety barrier, then again against the truck, and finally on the safety barrier again, before sliding for several meters,” Matisse explained.

“However, the dump truck did not stop,” Matisse said. “Only one car came up to help me.”

Matisse is looking for people who witnessed the accident to find the driver responsible. “I posted a call for witnesses on a few platforms and a lady saw the truck stop at the Cleunay gate. But the hit-and-run is still evident: the person did not call the police or firefighters.”

“Fortunately, my daughter was not in the car,” exclaims Matisse.

Matisse filed a complaint immediately. “I was very scared,” she said.

Regarding her health, the driver “was not injured but suffers from back pain.” “I had just dropped off my daughter at the day care center before hitting the road. Luckily, she wasn’t in the car.”

A similar case occurred on February 9, when an accident on the Rennes ring road involved two cars, and one of the drivers fled the scene.

A mother then made a plea for witnesses on social media to find the culprit of the collision.
