On Wednesday, April 8, the 37 community advisors gathered at the headquarters of the community of communes to elect the president, vice presidents, and members of the board. Marie-Pierre Pons Pierre, mayor of Cessenon-sur-Orb, was elected president of the Sud-Hérault community of communes. Also elected were: Pierre Polard, mayor of Capestang, as 1st vice president, responsible for environment and Gemapi; Thierry Cazals, mayor of Cazedarnes, as 2nd vice president, responsible for human resources and pooling; Rémy Affre, mayor of Cruzy, as 3rd vice president, responsible for urban planning and mobility; Laurent Obiols, mayor of Puisserguier, as 4th vice president, responsible for social action and child-youth; Jean-François Madonia, mayor of Saint Chinian, as 5th vice president, responsible for tourism and river ports; Olivier Henry, mayor of Montels, as 6th vice president, responsible for culture, heritage, and educational services; Marc Fidel, mayor of Cabezac, as 7th vice president, responsible for the economy and attractiveness of the territory; Jean-Marie Milhau, mayor of Prades-sur-Vernazobre, as 8th vice president, responsible for works, buildings, Spanc, and stadiums. The eight other mayors (Assignan, Babeau-Bouldoux, Creissan, Montouliers, Pierrerue, Poilhes, Quarante, Villespassans) were also elected members of the board of the community. To conclude this first council meeting, the new president read the charter of the local elected official.
