Complex invaded by travelers in Fonbeauzard: The Mayor files a complaint

Since Monday, travelers have settled in the sports complex of Fonbeauzard, located on Jean-Mermoz street.

More than twenty caravans are parked on the football field of this sports facility, not far from the space André-Gentillet and housing estates. To enter the field, members of this community cut part of the fence and then made connections to access water and electricity.

“I went to meet them to talk and remind them of the law. But they argued that the absence of a reception area for travelers in the municipality justified, according to them, this intrusion,” said Mostafa Lamrhani, the mayor of Fonbeauzard.

His services filed a complaint with the Castelginest gendarmerie for illegal occupation of public property, but also for damage. In addition, the town hall will send a letter to the prefect of Haute-Garonne.

Faced with this situation, the activities of football and rugby clubs are completely affected. This is not the first time that a traveler camp has made a stop in Fonbeauzard, always in the same place, illegally.
