On April 30th, the Confluence space will host around thirty companies in search of reinforcements. Organized by the city of Moissac, this forum primarily targets young people seeking a summer job.

Thirty companies gathered in one place to find their next seasonal workers. This is one of the goals of the job dating organized by the city of Moissac on April 30th. The event is co-organized by CCAS and the Youth Information Point (PIJ), in partnership with the Youth Employment Center. “It’s the first time it’s done in this form with the involvement of the PIJ,” emphasizes Stéphanie Gayet, deputy in charge of children and youth. While around twenty brands have already confirmed their presence, the organizers hope to reach over thirty participants by the event day.

Several sectors will be represented: catering, commerce, agriculture with fruit stations, as well as defense professions (army, police, and firefighters). “Most of the companies will be from Moissac. There will also be some offers located in Castelsarrasin,” explains the councilor. This job dating also serves the companies. “They are indeed in need of this type of initiative. Recruiting for temporary missions is particularly complex,” notes Stéphanie Gayet. This direct connection offers a concrete response to the needs of both recruiters and candidates.

An event aimed at under 30s

The target audience for this job dating is primarily 16-25 year-olds who sometimes have difficulty finding a seasonal job. This event is also an opportunity to promote the Youth Information Point, a structure established last September. “Even though we see that the PIJ is gradually becoming more ingrained in the minds of Moissagais, we would like their work and everything they offer to be more identified,” explains the deputy. Therefore, a dedicated stand to the structure will also be set up during the job dating to showcase all their actions developed throughout the year. The city also hopes to highlight the actions of the CCAS and the Youth Employment Center to this specific audience.

Although the event mainly focuses on seasonal jobs, the poster also announces jobs for the year. “The number of positions to be filled is still being prepared,” recalls Stéphanie Gayet. The job dating will take place on Thursday, April 30th at the Confluences space from 2 pm to 5 pm. Applicants are invited to come with their CV, in a friendly atmosphere thanks to the presence of food trucks on the square. This is a significant challenge for the municipality, as the unemployment rate reached 13.4% in the last Insee report in 2022. This data may have changed. By the last quarter of 2024, the unemployment rate was at 9.2% in the whole of Tarn-et-Garonne.
