Donald Trump threatens Iran with the collapse of “bridges and power plants across the country” if no agreement is reached.
President Trump is still as unpredictable as ever. Just hours before pushing back his ultimatum once again to Tuesday, April 7 at 2 am (Paris time), Donald Trump promised hell to the Islamic Republic if the Strait of Hormuz is not reopened. At the same time, he also claims there is a good chance of reaching an agreement. A meeting is scheduled for 7 pm on Monday at the White House.
“There are tactical and operational things happening. What we know is that American and Israeli forces have identified a bank of strategic targets to strike in case the regime does not respond to this umpteenth ultimatum from the American president,” analyzes journalist Guillaume Auda on LCI, in a segment available at the top of this article.
A fourth ultimatum is therefore being used to finalize the distribution of roles and objectives in case Donald Trump ultimately decides to “press the button.” “In the meantime, it is true that messages are being exchanged, but we are not entirely sure that these are the right people receiving the right messages to convey the right information and possibly lead to negotiations,” adds the journalist.
Can the American president really cross the line and strike civilian infrastructure? “The worst is not unlikely at this level. Escalation is always possible when you have an actor named Donald Trump, who is both impulsive and unpredictable,” concludes Guillaume Auda.
