The 113 Saint-Exupéry Air Base organized a charity concert for the 90th anniversary of the Air and Space Music, on Tuesday, March 31, at the Saint-Dizier Theater. The concert was performed by the Air Music brass band for the benefit of the Club Epheta association. Over 300 spectators were present in a sold-out theater. The commander of the BA 113, Colonel Matthieu Ponin-Ballom, opened the evening. He emphasized the charitable objective, the importance of gathering and rallying around a good cause, another way to discover the Air and Space Force through music.
Coming from the BA 107 in Vélizy-Villacoublay, the thirty musicians of the brass orchestra were led by Commander Laurent Douvre, deputy conductor of the Air Music. They performed several musical compositions, original works or movie scores.
The musical performance of the brass band was well received and highly applauded by the audience, who also showed generosity. It was indeed possible to make donations to the Club Epheta association, which supports child psychiatry services, in order to better assist children and their families at the Saint-Dizier hospital. In total, 1,200 euros were raised during the evening. The funds will be used to finance canine therapy, small equipment, or shows for children.
