The Union Saint-Jean Football Club (USJFC) is organizing, as every year, a major tournament open to players in the U12 category. More than 600 young players are expected, including prestigious teams from the professional world.

This prestigious tournament will take place at the Saint-Caprais stadium on Saturday, April 4 and Sunday, April 5. It’s an opportunity to discover the future talents. The reservoir of young footballers from USJFC shines, dominating the top spots in regional or departmental divisions, both for the academy and the developmental teams. Each season, the club highlights its teams and neighboring clubs during an international tournament reserved for U12 category, held during Easter weekend.

The “U12 Union cup” attracts clubs from all over France and even beyond borders. 48 teams will be represented, coming from cities like Bordeaux, Nantes, Paris, Strasbourg, Lyon, and Marseille. Among the over 600 players, the tournament will feature prestigious teams from professional clubs like Toulouse, Nice, Saint-Etienne, Genoa (Italy), Athletic Bilbao (Spain), Genk, and La Gantoise (Belgium). Each team will defend its colors for two days, on April 4 and 5 throughout the sports complex by Lake Saint-Caprais.

A new addition this year is the bodega scheduled for Saturday evening. A pétanque competition, food trucks, DJ, bar, and various activities will provide a break for athletes for one evening. The bodega will be free and open to everyone. This tournament, reminiscent of the Hers valley tournament, has gained a reputation over time. It’s a spectacle to behold, and the club hopes for a large turnout to support the red and black teams. The main USJFC team is more than ever in the race for promotion to National 3 level. There are only 6 matchdays left, but the results look promising for a new historic season for this young club, born from the merger of L’Union and Saint-Jean clubs.
