In a construction market that has been disrupted for several years now – down 3.9% according to the figures from the French Building Federation published in June 2025 – the performance of the French company NGE stands out. The group, originally from Bouches-du-Rhône and now the 4th largest in France, has gradually consolidated its position within the French elite, as evidenced by the 8.9% growth recorded in 2025, bringing revenue to 5.2 billion euros.

Decarbonization: from nuclear to railways

It is surely thanks to its highly diversified model that NGE – acronym for Nouvelles Générations d’Entrepreneurs – is able to face economic headwinds.

The group led by Jean Bernadet is present in several major sectors, including the water cycle, railways, and energy, which are closely linked to both transition and territorial development challenges. This is a way to distribute the risk and be able to bounce back if necessary.

In the railway sector, a key to decarbonated mobility, NGE shows a growth of 16%. It is worth mentioning the 394 million euro contract for the design and construction of the main section of the Rail Baltica line (870 km) in Estonia, awarded just a year ago thanks to the expertise gained from two major projects: the Lyon-Turin and the Grand Paris Express. In Africa, NGE is involved in the extension of the Kenitra-Marrakech line in Morocco. The railway sector accounts for 11% of the revenue, totaling 535 million euros.
