Comedian Malik Bentalha, originally from Laudun-l’Ardoise near Bagnols, in Gard, is launching his own comedy festival in Marrakech. The 37-year-old actor announced the arrival of the Marrakech Comedy Festival, which will take place at the Palais des congrès in the Moroccan city from June 4 to 6, 2026. Let’s find out more.

The dates have been revealed. From June 4 to 6, 2026, Malik Bentalha announced the arrival of a new major comedy event in Marrakech. Four years after the last Marrakech du rire launched by Jamel Debouzze between 2011 and 2022, the Gard comedian is taking over with “a new energy and new ideas,” as he revealed to Paris-Match.

“An unprecedented gala”

Invited to the set of Quotidien on TMC this Tuesday, March 24, the actor from Taxi 5 revealed his decision to embark on “a new adventure,” as reported by Télé 7 Jours. This new adventure is called the “Marrakech Comedy Festival”. During this first edition, Malik Bentalha will present an “unprecedented gala” bringing together on stage “a new generation of comedians alongside seasoned artists.”

“This is not like Jamel”

His project “does not come at all to replace anything,” “it’s not like Jamel,” the Gard comedian specifies in the interview with Paris-Match. The festival is aimed at “all people who want to laugh and come together.”

Among the expected personalities, Nordine Ganso, Paul de Saint-Sernin, Meriem Benoua, and Léopold Lemarchand have already been announced. The event will be produced by Karim Debouzze, Jamel’s brother, and will be broadcast on Disney+ this fall.

Tickets to attend the show in Marrakech have been available since Wednesday, March 25 on the Fnac Spectacles website starting from 80 euros.
