During Leinster’s defeat against Glasgow, RG Snyman suffered a knee injury, which is expected to make him miss the rest of the season. This is a tough blow for the South African second-row and for Leinster.
South African second-row player RG Snyman from Leinster is likely to be out for an extended period after sustaining a knee injury during the match against Glasgow Warriors.
Following the match, head coach of the Irish team, Leo Cullen, expressed little optimism. “He will be out for some time. I should have a full report next week, but unfortunately, his absence will be lengthy,” as reported by RugbyPass.
Season over?
When asked about the chances of seeing Snyman back this season, the coach was categorically affirmative. “Yes,” he replied when questioned about the possibility of a compromised season, leaving little room for doubt about a return before the end of the season. Internally, an anterior cruciate ligament rupture is feared.
This new setback is frustrating for the 31-year-old player, who was starting to find his form after his knee injury. Scoring three tries in nine appearances this season, Snyman played a crucial role at Leinster, particularly evident in his six starts. Apart from Leinster, this injury could also impact the player’s international schedule with South Africa.
