The “Fostering the Future Together” initiative aims to improve children’s well-being and promote their empowerment in the digital age through education, innovation, and technology.
At the beginning of the summit, marked by a welcome message from a human aid worker, Melania Trump delivered a speech emphasizing the mission of the new Coalition to empower children through technology and education in a rapidly transforming world, particularly with the advancements in Artificial Intelligence. She urged all countries and partner institutions to take concrete initiatives following this inaugural summit.
Melania specifically advocated for regional meetings, collaboration with the private sector, ensuring technology access for those in need, enacting innovative legislation to protect children, and enhancing cooperation among member countries.
Princess Lalla Hasnaa, in her remarks at the event, praised the visionary leadership of the US First Lady for launching this significant coalition, stating that Morocco is honored to participate in this coalition that embodies a shared vision.
Underlining the global responsibility to prepare children for the digital age, the Princess highlighted the urgency of acting collectively to bridge the gap between technology beneficiaries and those left behind and stressed that technology should empower individuals and reduce inequalities instead of exacerbating them.
She also emphasized Morocco’s commitment within the “Fostering the Future Together” coalition to enhance existing national digital protection platforms, develop national digital literacy and inclusion programs, and share best practices with African partners to promote collective learning and strengthen international cooperation.
The high-level meeting featured speeches by Brigitte Macron (France), Sheikha Alyazia bint Saif Al Nahyan (United Arab Emirates), Marta Nawrocka (Poland), Maricel Cohen de Mulino (Panama), Fatima Maada (Sierra Leone), and Gertrude Mutharika (Malawi).
Following the summit, Princess Lalla Hasnaa took a commemorative photo with the US First Lady and a family photo with delegation leaders. She then attended a reception at the White House hosted by Melania Trump in honor of the invited dignitaries.
The Global Coalition for Children’s “Fostering the Future Together” summit, attended by representatives from around forty countries and leading American technology companies, showcased national commitments and formal collaboration within the Coalition.
