Princess Lalla Hasnaa, upon the invitation of First Lady Melania Trump, represented Morocco on Wednesday at the White House in Washington for the Global Coalition for Children’s “Fostering the Future Together” summit.
An international initiative for children’s well-being The “Fostering the Future Together” initiative aims to improve children’s well-being and promote their empowerment in the digital age through education, innovation, and technology.
A call to action in the face of digital challenges At the beginning of the summit, marked by a welcoming speech from a humanitarian, Melania Trump emphasized that in a rapidly changing world, especially with Artificial Intelligence, the new Coalition’s mission will empower children through technology and education. She called on all countries and partner institutions to take concrete initiatives following this inaugural summit.
Morocco welcomes a common vision In her address at the meeting, Princess Lalla Hasnaa praised the visionary leadership of the First Lady of the United States for launching this important coalition. She highlighted Morocco’s honor in participating in a shared vision with the coalition.
Technology in service of equality Princess Lalla Hasnaa stressed that technology should empower people and reduce inequalities rather than exacerbate them.
Morocco’s commitments Princess Lalla Hasnaa outlined Morocco’s commitment within the “Fostering the Future Together” coalition to expand and strengthen existing national digital protection platforms and develop national programs for digital literacy and inclusion. Morocco is also ready to share its best practices and experience in digital child protection with African partners to enhance collective learning and international cooperation.
High-level international participation The summit featured speeches from Brigitte Macron (France), Sheikha Alyazia bint Saif Al Nahyan (UAE), Marta Nawrocka (Poland), Maricel Cohen de Mulino (Panama), Fatima Maada (Sierra Leone), and Gertrude Mutharika (Malawi).
Closing and diplomatic exchanges At the end of the high-level meeting, Princess Lalla Hasnaa posed for a photo with the First Lady of the United States and a family photo with delegation leaders. She then attended a reception hosted by Melania Trump at the White House for the invited guests.
