A nation that loses its agriculture loses its sovereignty. And we refuse this fate“. At the general assembly of the Departmental Federation of Agricultural Producers Unions of Alpes-de-Haute-Provence (FDSEA 04), the tone is set by its president, Nicolas Solda.

In a room in the Department, the faces are marked, sometimes closed. The reflection of a profession which, despite a deep attachment to its craft, continues to face strong turbulence. “Yes, agriculture is a passionate profession. But passion does not pay the bills or the expenses“, he continues.

For the union leader, the danger is real: “The observation is worrying: our agriculture risks following the path that French industry has known. We will not let it happen. Producing is not a problem. Not producing would be one“.
