At 37 years old, English international rugby player Courtney Lawes (105 caps) will be leaving Brive after two years.
Brive will not be Courtney Lawes’ last club. The former captain of the England national team will be joining a Premiership club, the top division in England. “I am experiencing something in Brive that I will never forget, both in terms of sport and human connection,” he said in a statement. “I will be fully committed until the end of the season to finish this adventure with CAB in the best way possible. My family and I have been very well received in Corrèze and we will always have Brive in our hearts.”
The leaders of Brive stated, “CAB would have liked Courtney Lawes to finish his career in Brive but understands his desire to take on a new challenge in his home country and wishes him success in this new adventure in England. The club is very proud to have had one of the legends of world rugby and one of the best back rows of his generation among its ranks.”
