Egypt mobilizes all its diplomatic efforts to put an end to the escalation in the region

Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates, Badr Abdel-Ati, affirmed that Egypt would exert all diplomatic efforts to de-escalate the situation in the region. Abdel-Ati made these remarks during a meeting with several opinion leaders, research center directors in Moscow to enhance communication with Russian intellectuals.

Abdel-Ati emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation between Egyptian and Russian research centers, highlighting the crucial role research institutions play in providing strategic perspectives to support decision-makers. He stressed the need to expand cooperation and exchange expertise in research and analysis to bolster both countries’ national interests.

The Egyptian Foreign Minister also discussed the guiding principles of Egypt’s foreign policy, based on the strategic balance principle, focusing on preserving the nation-state, respecting states’ sovereignty and territorial integrity, rejecting interference in domestic affairs, and resolving disputes peacefully.

Abdel-Ati praised the successful strategic partnership between Egypt and Russia, particularly highlighting progress in constructing the Dabaa nuclear power plant and the Russian industrial zone project in the Suez Canal Economic Zone. These initiatives demonstrate fruitful cooperation between the two parties and a shared commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation.

Regionally, Abdel-Ati mentioned Egypt’s intensive efforts to reduce regional escalation and manage current tensions, underscoring Egypt’s commitment to diplomatic solutions and dialogue.

Discussions also touched on security arrangements for the region and ways to support security and stability in the Middle East. The meeting involved an interactive discussion on various regional and international issues, including the Palestinian cause, the future of the international system, Security Council reform efforts, and challenges related to non-proliferation regimes and their impact on international security.
