The Tunisian national football team continues to climb in the FIFA world ranking. The latest ranking places the Eagles of Carthage in 44th position worldwide, a gain of three places compared to the previous edition. In Africa, Tunisia now holds the 7th position, behind Morocco, Senegal, Nigeria, Algeria, Egypt, and Ivory Coast.

Preparation that bears fruit

This progression is partly due to the recent friendly matches played in Canada in preparation for the 2026 World Cup. Tunisia first secured a narrow victory against Haiti (1-0), before drawing (0-0) against Canada. These performances have helped the Eagles of Carthage strengthen their position internationally.

The Eagles of Carthage are now 7th in Africa, behind Morocco (first in Africa and 8th worldwide), Senegal (14th worldwide), Nigeria (26th worldwide), Algeria (29th worldwide), Egypt (31st worldwide), and Ivory Coast (34th worldwide).

Recent journey and prospects

Before these matches, Tunisia had a mixed record in the Arab Cup, with a win against Qatar (3-0), a loss to Syria (0-1), and a draw against Palestine (2-2).

At the top of the global ranking, France takes the first place with 1877.32 points, surpassing Spain (1876.40 points), while Argentina completes the podium. Morocco remains the top African representative, 8th globally.
