A woman armed with a knife was apprehended on Sunday, March 29, on Place Jeanne-Hachette in downtown Beauvais.
This first spring weekend of the year could have been dramatic. At around 6:30 pm on Sunday, March 29, on Place Jeanne-Hachette in downtown Beauvais, a woman was seen wandering with a knife in hand, “threatening to physically attack pedestrians.” It appears that she may have been experiencing a dementia episode.
Fortunately, there were no injuries reported. The national police intervened after a report when the woman attempted to turn the weapon on herself. She was able to be apprehended thanks to the “use of a taser” to prevent her from harming herself.
According to the Public Prosecutor, Frédéric Trinh, the woman is a 41-year-old who is “known and monitored for psychiatric and suicidal disorders.” She was transported to the Isarien Hospital Center (CHI) in Clermont, where she was admitted.
