The Israeli army is said to have targeted a deployment area of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) in the south of the country with artillery fire, according to sources.
According to the Lebanese official agency, Israeli artillery units targeted the deployment area of the Indonesian contingent of UNIFIL, located in the town of Adchit el-Kousayr, in the Marjayoun district, in the south of the country.
No official casualty or damage toll has been immediately reported.

In a statement released on March 2, the Israeli army indicated that sirens had sounded in the north of the country after the detection of rocket fire from Lebanon.
The Israeli army then announced the launch of airstrikes across Lebanese territory, targeting notably the capital Beirut, before deciding to extend its ground operation into Lebanon, carrying out intensive attacks by air and sea.
The Lebanese Ministry of Health had reported that the death toll from Israeli strikes since March 2 had risen to 1,238, including 49 more in the past 24 hours, and 3,543 injured. The Lebanese government also stated that the number of displaced persons in the country had exceeded 1,162,000.
