The legionnaires of the 1st Reg of Laudun-L’Ardoise will parade on July 14 on the Champs-Élysées alongside the pioneers of the Legion and the Legion Band.
On July 14, the legionnaires of the 1is Reg (foreign engineering regiment) from Laudun-L’Ardoise will parade on the Champs-Élysées. The 1st Reg had already set foot on the streets of Paris 12 years ago on the occasion of the national holiday.
The regiment will bring up the rear during the parade and will be alongside the pioneers – the traditional unit within the French army which wears a beard, a buffalo apron and an ax on the shoulder – and the Legion Band foreign, the musical formation made up of legionnaires.

The soldiers will parade in the traditional “pas Légion”
The legionnaires will parade in “Legion step”, a slower pace than other soldiers, a tradition of the Legion.
This year, the July 14 parade has the theme “the strategic awakening of Europe” and will honor Ukraine. Some 10,000 soldiers from the French army and its allies are expected on the Champs-Élysées. The French Navy will be honored for its 400th anniversary.
