The visit of the Minister of the Armed Forces and Veterans to the CIEC, in the presence of the Central Director of the Armed Forces Commissariat, Commissioner General Olivier Marcotte, was an opportunity to present the soldier’s equipment and field life material designed by the CIEC.

Madame Catherine Vautrin, Minister of the Armed Forces and Veterans, stated, “Operational efficiency also depends on the solidity of support and the performance of materials.”

After the honors were paid to Minister of the Armed Forces and Veterans, the Director of the CIEC, Commissioner General Renaud Dutt, presented the role and close support missions provided by the CIEC.

Commissioner General Renaud Dutt stated, “The CIEC is a hub of expertise. It houses professions that do not exist anywhere else in the armed forces. It is responsible for a value chain that extends from conception to delivery to the end beneficiaries.”

A dynamic presentation of equipment and field life materials specifically exhibited on the parade ground of the general quarter Estienne was then made, allowing the Minister of the Armed Forces and Veterans to interact with the actors of the CIEC and the partner suppliers present for the occasion.

Madame Catherine Vautrin emphasized, “There is a real focus on the quality of equipment for our armed forces and our local companies. We often talk about the Defense-Industrial and Technological Base (BITD), but we often forget the companies that equip our armed forces even though they are equally important.”

The visit highlighted the requirements of autonomy, sovereignty, and reactivity in the field of soldier’s equipment, and showcased the strong bonds between the Armed Forces Commissariat and the Defense Industrial Support Base (BISD).

Minister added, “Behind each piece of equipment lies the absolute requirement for quality, reliability, and reactivity, carried by our suppliers. This level of requirement enables our military to act, hold, and succeed in the most demanding environments. This sovereignty is absolutely crucial in our equipment and in our support in general. To achieve this, our companies must have the financial and human capacity to produce our equipment.”

She further mentioned, “France has evolved the format of our armed forces, with the evolution of the reserve, national service, and these evolutions have an impact on equipment needs.

The capacity approach also applies to our equipment,” added the Central Director of the Armed Forces Commissariat.
