After Qatar, North America will host the World Cup. FIFA has revealed the artists expected for the half-time show of the World Cup final. While Michou was recruited by M6 for the sporting event, international stars will participate. Scheduled for July 19, 2026 at MetLife Stadium, the final promises a spectacular show. Chris Martin, singer of the group Coldplay, will be the artistic director of this highly anticipated world premiere.
A unique spectacle for the World Cup final
The 2026 World Cup continues to reveal its many surprises. After the artists announced for the opening ceremonies, Fifa confirmed the stars chosen for the half-time show of the final. Madonna, Shakira and the South Korean group BTS will take the stage on July 19 at MetLife Stadium, located in East Rutherford, New Jersey. This meeting will mark a first in the history of the World Cup. Until now, no World Cup final had offered a show inspired by the famous halftime of the Super Bowl. To orchestrate this great evening, FIFA has chosen Chris Martin, leader of the group Coldplay, as artistic director of the world event.
Shakira will occupy a special place during this competition organized in the United States, Mexico and Canada. The Colombian singer will notably perform the official anthem of the 2026 World Cup. At the beginning of May, she revealed an extract from Dai Dai, a track recorded with Nigerian rapper Burna Boy. In a clip shared on social networks, the artist appeared surrounded by dancers in the heart of the legendary Maracana stadium, in Brazil. This new song will accompany several highlights of the tournament. With Madonna and BTS, Fifa wishes to offer a show capable of bringing together several generations and different audiences. The objective is also to reinforce the dimension cultural and international competition.
A World Cup under the sign of the stars
FIFA also specified that this halftime show will have an important charitable dimension. The body wishes to draw inspiration from the Super Bowl model, whose halftime show has become a global cultural phenomenon over the years. According to the organization, this concert will support the FIFA Global Fund for Citizenship Education. This initiative aims to raise $100 million to promote access to education and football for children around the world. In addition to the final show, several opening ceremonies are planned in the organizing countries. Each will highlight local artists, but also international stars very popular with the general global public. In Mexico, the Maná group, Alejandro Fernández and Belinda should participate in the festivities. On the United States side, Katy Perry, rapper Future and DJ Sanjoy are notably announced. Canada will welcome Michael Bublé, Alessia Cara and Alanis Morissette. Several international artists will also complete this XXL program. French rapper Vegedream, known for his hit Bring the Cup Home, will participate in the Canadian ceremony. Lisa, member of the Blackpink group, Paraguayan singer Marilina Bogado, J Balvin, Anitta and Danny Ocean are also expected. With this impressive poster, FIFA wants to transform the 2026 World Cup into a huge musical and popular celebration.
