Tensions remain high in the Middle East on Friday, March 20. The conflict persists as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that Iran was on the verge of being “decimated.” Siavosh Ghazi, correspondent for RFI and France 24, reports on the current situation from Iran on LCI.

“It’s relatively calm in Tehran, as well as in the rest of the country. Media reports a single strike overnight (from Thursday to Friday) against a target to the east of the Iranian capital. The media also report statements from the Revolutionary Guards claiming to have launched two waves of attacks at 1 am, then a third wave around 4 am against Israel. Several American bases in the region were targeted overnight by missile strikes,” explains Siavosh Ghazi.

The Revolutionary Guards announced the death of their spokesperson, Ali-Mohammad Na’ini, on Friday. Several Iranian leaders have been killed in recent days. The death of Ali Larijani, a key figure in the Tehran regime, caused a strong reaction, and Iran has vowed to retaliate.

“For Tehran, we are entering a new phase of this conflict. After three weeks of war, Iran is using increasingly powerful missiles against Israel, but also against American bases in the region,” Siavosh Ghazi also notes.
