“Often, young people only engage in the trades they know,” explains Nathalie Robert, director of the local Mission locale in the La Ciotat region. “Our mission is to provide them with diversified information. So we decided to introduce them to military careers, but especially to the support functions related to the army that are often unknown.”
Thus, on Thursday, March 12th, representatives from the Centers of Information and Recruitment of the Armed Forces (Cirfa), as well as from the voluntary military service and the operational energy service, were in La Ciotat to meet with young people and talk about their professions. Beyond the strictly military training of a soldier, the army allows young people to be trained in numerous trades such as mechanics, telecommunications, image capture and analysis, piloting, healthcare, as well as cooking and accounting. There are over 500 different trades in the army.
Diverse Occupations
“Everywhere, we need everything,” summarizes Chief Ludovic, recruitment manager of the operational energy service, very well. He extensively explained his work to the young people and the various professions related to it.
