The United States and Israel are increasing strikes against the Tehran regime. A first and then a second bridge were destroyed on Tuesday, April 7, resulting in two deaths and three injuries.
Israeli-American strikes hit a bridge near the Iranian city of Qom on Tuesday, April 7, south of Tehran, according to state television, citing the deputy governor of the province, on the 39th day of the Middle East war.
In his ultimatum issued to Iran to reach an agreement by Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. (Washington time, around 2:00 a.m. in Paris), U.S. President Donald Trump had threatened to target Iranian bridges.
“Moments ago, one of the bridges (…) on the outskirts of the city of Qom, in the west of the province, was precisely attacked by American and Zionist enemy projectiles,” said deputy governor Morteza Heydari.
A second bridge hit
A second bridge in Iran, south of Tehran, was struck by Israeli-American strikes, resulting in two deaths and three injuries, this time reported by the official news agency Irna, citing a local official.
“Moments ago, the American-Zionist aggressor attacked the railway bridge of Yahya Abad in the city of Kashan,” declared Akbar Salehi, vice-governor of Isfahan province. “In this attack, two people were killed and three were injured.”
Strikes against Kharg Island
Strikes were also carried out against Kharg Island in the Gulf, a critical point in Iran’s oil industry, as reported by the Iranian Mehr news agency.
“The American-Zionist enemy conducted several attacks on Kharg Island (southwest) and several explosions were heard,” it reported.
The Israeli army announced the completion of a new series of significant strikes on Iran, specifying that they specifically targeted infrastructures.
“The Israeli army has recently completed a wide-ranging series of strikes targeting dozens of infrastructure sites owned by the Iranian terror regime in several regions across Iran,” said a military statement.
Earlier in the day, Israel had urged Iranians not to travel by train on Tuesday until this evening. This announcement suggests strikes on railway infrastructures.
At the same time, the Iranian Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Alireza Rahimi called on Tuesday for Iranian youth to form “human chains” to protect the country’s energy infrastructures following new threats issued by Donald Trump the previous day.
