Qatar alerts against military escalation around Iran
The Qatar warns of a potential conflict that could become “unstoppable” in the near future. The spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Majed Al-Ansari, emphasized that the region is dangerously close to a breaking point.
“We are very close to a situation where it can no longer be controlled,” he said, calling on all parties to find a quick resolution to the crisis. According to him, Doha has been working since 2023 to avoid such a drift, advocating for a gradual and verifiable de-escalation. But recent developments, according to the Qatari official, show that this dynamic has not been sufficiently halted.
Qatar insists on the need for a political solution, stating that no military solution can permanently stabilize the region. “There are no winners in continuing this war, only losers,” Majed Al-Ansari affirmed, mentioning visible consequences on regional security, the global economy, and energy markets.
Doha also denounced violations of its sovereignty, pointing fingers at Iran’s actions against several countries in the region, deemed “unjustifiable.” This position is in line with Qatar’s consistent diplomatic stance, seeking to maintain a balance between criticizing Iranian actions and keeping open channels of dialogue.
Facing the urgency, Qatar asserts that it is working with its regional and international partners to exploit “any window of opportunity” that could lead to de-escalation.
