During the meeting, General Phan Van Giang emphasized that, in recent years, under the strategic direction of the senior leaders of the two parties and two countries, bilateral cooperation between Vietnam and China in various fields has significantly deepened, materialized, and strengthened; bilateral defense cooperation has always been considered one of the essential pillars of the relationship between the two countries, as evidenced by many areas of cooperation, such as exchanges of delegations, cooperation between different branches of the armed forces, education and training, defense industry, joint research, etc.
In March, the two sides successfully held the first “3+3” strategic dialogue meeting at the ministerial level between the Foreign Ministers, Defense Ministers, and Public Security Ministers of Vietnam and China.
The two sides successfully organized the 10th exchange of friendship in frontier defense between Vietnam and China in Quang Ninh province in Vietnam and the Zhuang Autonomous Region of Guangxi in China, thus contributing to strengthening solidarity and friendship, and promoting ever more effective and substantial defense cooperation between the two countries.
On this occasion, General Phan Van Giang expressed his gratitude for the contributions of the ambassador and defense attaché in recent activities, especially their coordination and support in the renovation and restoration of cemeteries for Chinese military personnel and experts who participated in assisting the Vietnamese revolution (April 2025).
For the future, General Phan Van Giang hopes that the Chinese embassy will continue to closely cooperate with the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense to promote even deeper and more substantial bilateral defense cooperation.
