The second American pilot whose plane crashed in Iran was rescued by the US military and is now “safe and sound,” Donald Trump announced on his Truth Social network.
“Over the last few hours, the US military has carried out one of the most daring search and rescue operations in the history of the United States to assist one of our amazing crew members, who is also a highly respected colonel, and I am delighted to announce that he is now SAFE AND SOUND!” wrote the US president.
He mentioned that the military personnel was injured, and the rescue operation involved “dozens of aircraft.”

Oman claims to have spoken with Iran about reopening the Strait of Hormuz, according to the sultanate’s official news agency. The meeting involved members of the foreign ministries of both countries who presented “possible options” for reopening the passage, as reported by the Omani agency.
