Young lawyer registered at the Paris bar since 2024, Déborah Reeb embodies a generation of criminal lawyers for whom defense is both a profession, a duty, and a commitment. Trained in Strasbourg and inspired by the great figures of the legal profession, she gradually builds a demanding practice deeply rooted in the rule of law and human dignity.
Her academic journey began at the Robert Schuman University in Strasbourg, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Law and Criminology followed by a Master’s degree in Applied Criminal Law, graduating at the top of her class with honors. “Academically, I have always been a very good student; unlike many, I was fortunate to feel at home in the classrooms, then at the university, and eventually in court,” she shares.
Proud of her Strasbourg background, Reeb values the city for its symbolism, as Robert Schuman was a lawyer, a resistant, and one of the founding fathers of the European construction. This choice allowed her to take a different path from many Parisian lawyers. “It is enriching for me to have lived outside the capital,” she explains, believing this experience gave her “a more comprehensive, more compassionate view of others.”
During her time in Strasbourg, she discovered the European Court of Human Rights, attended hearings, worked on drafting judgments, and delved into litigation that has become integral to the practice of national defense. She furthered her education at the Court of Cassation, the highest court in the French judicial system, where she learned about appeals in criminal matters. This dual training has provided her with a rare mastery of technical litigation and recourse avenues.
Before taking the oath in 2024, she trained at several leading criminal law firms, representing victims of police violence, activists, and parents facing accusations related to sensitive issues.
Today, she works as an independent collaborator in her own office, assisting numerous individuals and expanding her practice.
