Oracle has announced the launch of its “Defense Industrial Base Isolated Cloud Environment,” a new secure and isolated cloud deployment option. Through this environment, defense providers can collaborate more effectively within Oracle’s national security regions, air-gapped infrastructures designed to meet the strictest government classification standards. The defense industrial base (DIB) includes thousands of contractors and partners who design, develop, and manufacture essential mission systems, platforms, and combat technologies for the US military’s digital power.

These organizations require secure environments for classified research and development activities, system integration, testing and evaluation, as well as mission support for Department of Defense programs in all conflict areas. With the DIB Isolated Cloud, these entities can now access Oracle’s isolated cloud infrastructure while strictly adhering to security standards and Department of Defense classification protocols. This solution extends existing classified independent research and development environments on-site to the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, ensuring compliance with SIPRNet (Secret Internet Protocol Router Network) and JWICS (Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications System) boundaries.

Crucially, this new cloud environment allows multiple defense industrial base members to collaborate securely on joint classified programs. Additionally, the DIB Isolated Cloud will help accelerate program schedules and enhance mission efficiency by providing users with granular access controls to workloads and resources within isolated environments. Other advantages of this new cloud option include access to advanced cloud-native capabilities for classified workloads. This enables defense providers to leverage modern cloud technologies for classified R&D and mission system development through access to cutting-edge AI models, high-performance computing, and autonomous database services in isolated “Secret” and “Top-Secret” environments. Secure R&D: it provides a controlled and compliant environment for AI research and collaboration within Oracle’s national security regions, allowing DIB organizations to scale and deploy AI confidently from development to production.

Significant financial benefits: the solution reduces infrastructure costs by offering predictable pricing based on classification levels, allowing defense base teams to invest savings in innovation. Faster program execution: it accelerates the delivery of critical capabilities to warfighters by reducing integration timelines and minimizing coordination fees through real-time collaboration capabilities.
