Israeli and American armies launched a series of airstrikes against Iran on Saturday, February 28, targeting numerous sites in Tehran, Isfahan, and Tabriz.
“The state of Israel launched a preventive strike against Iran to eliminate threats to Israel,” the Israeli Defense Ministry stated as sirens sounded across Israel to urge residents to seek shelter.
“Our goal is to defend the American people by eliminating imminent threats posed by the Iranian regime, a vicious group of very tough and terrible individuals,” said President Donald Trump, announcing a “major combat operation.” “We will destroy their missiles and annihilate their ballistic industry. It will once again be totally destroyed. We will annihilate their navy as well,” added the American president, signaling the failure of ongoing negotiations for several weeks.
“Citizens of Israel, not long ago, Israel and the United States launched an operation to eliminate the existential threat posed by the Iranian terrorist regime,” said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. “For forty-seven years, the ayatollah regime has been chanting ‘death to Israel, death to America.’ It has shed our blood, assassinated many Americans, and massacred its own people. We must not allow this murderous terrorist regime to acquire nuclear weapons that would threaten all of humanity,” explained the Israeli Prime Minister.
