From New York to San Diego in California, passing through Washington, more than 3,000 marches across the United States to say “no kings”. The slogan of a new massive mobilization against Donald Trump. A little over a year after his inauguration, many say they no longer recognize their country. “We want change. There needs to be change because this is no longer America”; “He needs to leave. He causes so much destruction in all areas,” declare several protesters.

According to organizers, eight million Americans marched on Saturday, March 28, in the streets of the country. A figure higher than the previous mobilization day in October. The war against Iran, unpopular in the United States, may have inflated the number of marches.

In the demonstrations, several historically left-wing celebrities were present: actors Robert de Niro, Jane Fonda, but especially singer Bruce Springsteen.

Immigration police cost the lives of two people earlier this year. A huge crowd was gathered. “Your strength and commitment prove to us that America is still here,” said American singer Bruce Springsteen. Donald Trump did not react to the “no kings” protests, not even to the one organized near his Mar-a-Lago villa in Florida. This Saturday, as usual, the American president went to his favorite golf club.
