Elon Musk, the billionaire, insulted the Paris prosecutor’s office after suspicions of manipulation were reported to boost X and xAI, amidst controversy surrounding deepfakes generated by his AI Grok.
Elon Musk on Saturday called the Paris prosecutors “mentally backward” for reporting to US authorities a possible “artificial valuation” of the social network X and the AI startup xAI that belong to him.
“These are mentally backward people,” he said in French text about X, in response to an AFP report on this notification.
The controversy surrounding sexually explicit deepfakes generated by Grok (X’s AI agent) may have been deliberately stirred to artificially boost the companies X and xAI, in anticipation of “the planned IPO in June 2026 of the new entity resulting from the merger between SpaceX and xAI, while X was clearly losing momentum,” explained the prosecutor to AFP on Saturday.
