The United States has lost several aircraft since the beginning of their joint offensive with Israel on February 28.

An American F-35 fighter jet was forced to make an emergency landing at a US base in the Middle East, the army reported on Thursday, March 19. The American press reported that it may have been hit by presumed Iranian fire.

“The aircraft landed safely and the pilot is in stable condition,” said US Army spokesperson Captain Tim Hawkins in a statement.

“An investigation is ongoing,” he added, without confirming if an Iranian shot was the cause of the emergency procedure as reported by CNN and ABC.

Thirteen American soldiers have been killed since the start of the war against Iran, seven in Tehran’s attacks on American bases in the Middle East, specifically in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, and six in a plane crash.

The US military has reported approximately 200 of its soldiers injured in seven different countries, including ten “seriously,” according to a preliminary report earlier this week.
