The United States Embassy in Bahrain has called on all American citizens and government personnel in the kingdom to “shelter in place until further notice.”
In a message posted on the American platform X, the embassy announced that routine consular services have been suspended, stating that they are closely monitoring the situation in the region and promising to provide updates as necessary.
“If possible, stay in a secure building and away from windows. Stock up on food, water, medicine, and other essential supplies,” it recommends.
It also urges American citizens to regularly check their emails for any additional information or last-minute changes.
Regional tensions have escalated since the joint U.S. and Israel offensive against Iran began on February 28.
In response, Tehran has carried out drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and several Gulf countries hosting American military installations, resulting in loss of life, damage to property, and disruptions in global markets and air traffic.
