In the midst of the conflict in the Middle East, the American army was able to rescue two of its members who were missing in Iran. The second American pilot whose plane had crashed has been rescued and is now “safe and sound,” announced Donald Trump on Sunday. American media had previously reported that one crew member had been rescued, which was also confirmed by the White House tenant. One of the two soldiers is said to be seriously injured, according to the president.

“In the past few hours, the American army has successfully carried out one of the most daring search and rescue operations in the history of the United States, to help one of our incredible crew officers, who is also said to be a highly respected colonel,” wrote the American president on his Truth Social network.

A very large rescue operation

“I am pleased to announce that he is now SAFE AND SOUND!” added Donald Trump, specifying, however, that the soldier had been injured. The rescue operation, according to him, mobilized “dozens of aircraft.” Since then, the president has revealed that the colonel was “seriously injured.”

Iranian and American forces had been searching since Friday for the crew of the first American combat plane to crash in Iran since the beginning of the war. The Iranian army had claimed to have shot down an F-15E fighter-bomber.

“This is the first time in military memory that two American pilots have been rescued, separately, in the heart of enemy territory,” emphasized Donald Trump. According to the Iranian news agency Tasnim, the Revolutionary Guards themselves claimed that an American plane had been shot down during the rescue operations, in the region of Isfahan.
