Two Relatives of Slain Iranian General Detained by US Immigration Police Supporters of the Iranian regime were detained by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in the United States. The US State Department announced on Saturday that the niece and granddaughter of Iranian General Qassem Soleimani, who was killed in a drone strike ordered by Donald Trump in 2020, had been arrested on American soil.

“Last night, the niece and granddaughter of the General of the Revolutionary Guard Corps Qassem Soleimani were arrested by federal agents following Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s revocation of their green card status,” a State Department spokesperson said in a statement.

The “Great Satan” The niece, identified as Hamideh Soleimani Afshar, is accused by Washington of openly supporting the Islamic Republic.

“While she lived in the United States, she promoted the Iranian regime’s propaganda, applauded attacks on American soldiers and military sites in the Middle East, praised the new Iranian Supreme Leader, denounced America as the ‘Great Satan,’ and expressed unwavering support for the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, a designated terrorist group,” the statement said.

Marco Rubio specified that “Hamideh Soleimani Afshar and her daughter held green cards and lived lavishly in the United States.” “This week, I terminated the legal status of Afshar and her daughter, and they are now held by ICE, awaiting deportation from the United States. The Trump administration will not allow our country to become a haven for foreign nationals who support anti-American terrorist regimes,” the Secretary of State wrote.

The State Department also stated that Marco Rubio revoked the “legal status” of Fatemeh Ardeshir-Larijani, daughter of Ali Larijani, the head of the Iranian National Security Council, in early April, following a strike claimed by Israel in mid-March.

Fatemeh Ardeshir-Larijani and her husband “are no longer present in the United States and are banned from any future entry” into American soil, the State Department added.
