Donald Trump also stated that the United States might not assist NATO in case of need during a business forum in Miami. He criticized NATO, calling it a “one-way street” and questioning the purpose of the alliance. The tensions between the United States and NATO have escalated since President Trump’s return to power, with the US accusing Europeans of being complacent about their security and Europeans expressing concern about potential US disengagement.
