Pakistan’s maneuver? The country now acts as a mediator in the Middle East war, one month after the conflict began. Pakistan’s role is crucial due to its ability to engage with both Iran and the United States.
On LCI, Colonel Peer de Jong discusses the connections between Islamabad and Washington. He explains, “General Munir, Pakistan’s leader, trained in the United States. Therefore, he is very close to Donald Trump.” Pakistan and China issued a joint call on Tuesday, March 31, to end the conflict with a multi-point plan including a ceasefire and restoration of traffic in the Strait of Hormuz.
According to Colonel Peer de Jong, Pakistan could assist the United States. The LCI consultant highlights, “It is a backup and exit strategy for the Americans. They say Trump’s initial five-six week tempo at the start of the war will be maintained. We are now four weeks in, two weeks remain.”
