Find the main sports news from March 29, 2026. The French national football team was not the only one to shine, with several winners in individual sports.

Football – France confirms in Washington

Although revamped, the Bleus were still sharp against Colombia (3-1) thanks to a double by Désiré Doué (29th, 56th) and a goal by Marcus Thuram (41st). Kylian Mbappé only came on late and did not score, leaving Olivier Giroud as the sole top scorer in the history of the French team (57 goals to 56), at least until June. And certainly not beyond that, anyways, we hope.

F1 – Antonelli doubles up in Suzuka

Kimi Antonelli (Mercedes) won his second Grand Prix in a row, triumphing in Japan two weeks after China. This makes the Italian the youngest leader in the history of a world championship, at 19 years and six months. Oscar Piastri (McLaren) and Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) complete the podium, followed in the top 10 by George Russell (Mercedes), Lewis Hamilton (Ferrari), Pierre Gasly (Alpine), Max Verstappen (Red Bull), Liam Lawson (Racing Bulls), and Esteban Ocon (Haas).

Cycling – Vingegaard and Philipsen triumph

Jonas Vingegaard (Visma – Lease a Bike) clinched the Tour of Catalonia ahead of Lenny Martinez (Bahrain Victorious) who finished 1’22” behind, after the final stage in Barcelona won by Brady Gilmore (NSN) in a sprint ahead of Dorian Godon (INEOS) and Remco Evenepoel (Red Bull – Bora – Hansgrohe). In the Gand-Wevelgem, now called In Flanders Fields, Jasper Philipsen (Alpecin) beat Tobias Lund Andresen (Decathlon – CMA CGM) and Christophe Laporte (Visma).

Tennis – Sinner reigns in Miami

Logically, despite an hour and a half interruption between sets due to rain, Jannik Sinner calmly secured the Miami Masters 1000 by defeating Jiri Lehecka in the final (6-4, 6-4). One can’t help but think that Arthur Fils had his place there, but the Frenchman was defeated by the Czech in the semifinals on Friday.

Rugby – Stade Francais finishes in style

Stade Francais crushed Clermont in unexpected proportions, with a 64-20 scoreline that sends a message to the Top 14 with 40 points in just the second half and a remarkable 33-0 in the last eleven minutes! The score was only 31-20 at that moment for the residents of Jean-Bouin, but they notably scored 19 points with a numerical advantage. Stade Francais is in third place, tied with second-placed Pau.
